Gandia is located between the Serpis river and the San Nicolás ravine.

In the 16th century, the level of culture which had been generated by local writers such as Ausiàs March, Joanot Martorell and Joan Roís de Corella was consolidated by the founding of the university which continued with the brilliance of past centuries. Finally our city re-emerged reviving this great reputation but this time with the added attractions of tourism, farming and exports.

The city centre still maintains the legacy inherited from those fruitful centuries, for example: Ducal Palace, the Archaeological Museum, Santa Maria Collegiate Church which was declared a National Historic-Artistic Monument, the hermitages of Santa Clara and Santa Ana, Sant Marc Hospital, Santa Clara Covent, the City Hall (1778).

The city's most well-known monument is Ducal Palace. This great mansion has been recently renovated. The beach is within easy reach from the old town where you can make the most of the wonderful climate to enjoy the area's beaches.
