Visit to the Templario-Pontificio Castle

The Templario-Pontificio Castle is one of the three fortifications that have the honour of having been one of the Papal Seats. It has been declared a National Monument of Historic and Artistic interest and is the second most visited monument in Spain after the Alhambra in Granada and is both tourist attraction and a cultural centre.
The castle is strategically positioned at the top of the city from where you can take in the most spectacular views. You can visit the great rooms of the castle, the conclave hall, its passages, the inner ward, etc…
Its general state of conservation is very surprising, both the castle itself and its walls are in very good condition.

This hike is rated as very difficult, mainly due to its length (nearly 17.5 km) but it is one of the most beautiful to be found in this mountain range. It runs around the mountain tops, including the Campanilles Peak, which is 572 metres above sea level. The journey starts at the Santa Llúcia and Sant Benet Hermitage and finishes at the Sant Antoni Hermitage.
We would recommend the following points of interest: Santa Llúcia and Sant Benet Hermitage, the Ebrí Tower, Campanilles Peak, Santa Magdalena de Polpis Castle and the Sant Antoni Hermitage.
